Winter activity
The Dolomites, a winter wonderland
In winter, the Three Peaks Dolomites resort around Dobbiaco turns into a snowy paradise, with five interconnecting ski areas to delight skiers and snowboarders. Cross-country skiers won’t be disappointed either, with a choice of beautiful trails leading through dream snowscapes – it’s not uncommon to bump into some famous pros training here or in the Nordic Arena cross-country stadium in Dobbiaco. The Dolomites also offer plenty of alternative options ranging from snowshoeing to tobogganing and ski touring. Ice skaters and hockey enthusiasts will be happy to know that the indoor ice rink in Dobbiaco is open in all weathers.
On arrival here at the hostel, winter visitors receive a complimentary Holiday Pass, which offers numerous benefits, including free travel on ski express trains, ski shuttles and buses in the Three Peaks area and all public transport in South Tyrol

of snow fun
A ski express train departs from Dobbiaco station every half hour. The journey to the Three Peaks Dolomites ski resort (100 km of slopes) only takes 10 minutes, and it’s just 20 minutes to the Plan de Corones ski area (120 km of slopes) near Brunico. In Dobbiaco there is also the smaller, family-friendly Rienz ski area, which can be reached directly with the city bus. A combined 3 Peaks Dolomites lift pass allows you to choose the ski area you prefer.
